Last year, best-selling author Kimberla Lawson Roby was the featured author for the club's sixth anniversary. She said Billingsley's visit will kick off Black History Month and also celebrate the club's seventh anniversary.
"We're delighted to partner with the Library District to bring this outstanding author to Gainesville," said Cynthia Moore Chestnut, founder and president of the Opinionated Ladies Book Club. Presented in conjunction with the seventh anniversary of the Opinionated Ladies Book Club and sponsored by the club, along with the Friends of the Library and the Alachua County Library District, the event will be held at 3 p.m. ReShonda Tate Billingsley, a national best-selling author and winner of the 2012 NAACP Image Award for her novel, "Say Amen, Again," will make her first-ever appearance in Gainesville during "An Afternoon with ReShonda Tate Billingsley."
